Online consultations
The European Commission is currently revising the EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture. To support this work, we are inviting stakeholders to share their experience and views.
An initial online consultation has been launched (deadline originally set for 29 June 2026, extended to 13 July 2026) which aims to gather feedback on:
- Awareness and use of the EU Ecolabel for furniture,
- The practical feasibility of the current requirements (including testing and verification),
- Key barriers and drivers for uptake in the market, and
- Priorities for how the criteria could be updated to better reflect environmental impacts, innovation, and market reality, while maintaining credibility.
Your input will help to identify which parts of the criteria work well, where clarification or simplification is needed, and where the level of ambition may need to be adjusted or strengthened. Responses will be analysed in an aggregated form and used to inform the evidence base for the criteria revision process.
