This platform serves as the central information hub for the ongoing preparatory study and impact assessment supporting potential ecodesign requirements for furniture under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), alongside the revision of the EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture.
The project aims to assess the environmental impacts of furniture across its life cycle and identify policy options to improve product sustainability, including durability, reparability, recyclability and material efficiency.
This website also functions as the dedicated online platform for stakeholders interested in the revision of the EU Ecolabel criteria for furniture. Stakeholders are invited to follow project developments and actively contribute to the process.

Update: Extended Stakeholder Feedback Submission Deadlines
The deadline for submitting stakeholder feedback on the Phase I draft reports supporting the ESPR Preparatory Study on Furniture has been extended.
Stakeholders are now invited to submit their feedback by 10 November 2026 for the MEErP Tasks 1–4 draft report and the Preliminary Mapping of Available LCA Data report, and by 25 November 2026 for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) Content Assessment for Furniture.
Feedback should be submitted using the relevant feedback templates and sent to eco-furniture [at] trinomics.eu (eco-furniture[at]trinomics[dot]eu).
The deadline for feedback relating specifically to Substances of Concern (SoC) remains 25 November 2026, using the dedicated SoC feedback template.
Phase I Draft Reports Published and Stakeholder Consultation is Open
The draft reports supporting Phase I of the ESPR Preparatory Study on Furniture are now available under the Publications section of the ESPR Preparatory Study.
The published documents include the MEErP Tasks 1-4 draft report, the Preliminary Mapping of Available LCA Data report, and the Digital Product Passport (DPP) Content Assessment for Furniture. Stakeholder feedback templates are also available in the same section.
Stakeholders are invited to submit written feedback by 3 November 2026 (deadline extended until 10 November 2026 for MEErP Tasks 1-4 and 24 November 2026 for DPP content assessment) by sending completed templates to eco-furniture [at] trinomics.eu. Feedback relating specifically to Substances of Concern (SoC) may be submitted until 25 November 2026 using the dedicated SoC feedback template.
First ESPR Preparatory Study Stakeholder Meeting scheduled for 6 October 2026
The first stakeholder meeting of the ESPR Preparatory Study on Furniture will take place on 6 October 2026, from approximately 9:00 to 16:00 CEST, in Brussels at the Conference Centre Albert Borschette (CCAB), with the option to participate online via Microsoft Teams. The meeting agenda is now available under the Stakeholder Meetings section of the ESPR Preparatory Study.
